TOMATO FRY
Tomato fry is an easy and simple recipe. It is a good side dish for dosas, chapatis and pooris.
Ingredients:Â
Tomato- 6, sliced.           Â
Onion- 1, thinly sliced
Ginger- a small piece, finely chopped
Garlic – 6 cloves, finely chopped
Green chillies- 2, slit
Turmeric/ haldi powder- ¼ tsp.
Kashmiri chilli powder- ½ tsp.
Tomato sauce- 1 tbsp.
Curry leaves- few
Mustard- 1 tsp.
Jeera- ½ tsp.
Coconut oil- 1 tbsp.
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp, finely chopped.
Preparation Method: Step by Step
- Take a pan, add oil. Once oil is hot, add in the mustard seeds, jeera and curry leaves. Let the mustard seed flutter.
- Then add in ginger, garlic and green chillies. Saute it well over low flame till you receive a nice aroma of garlic.Â
- Add onions and saute till it becomes slightly brown.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
- Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
- After 5 minutes, mash the tomatoes. Add tomato sauce and mix well.
- Turn off the flame and add in the coriander leaves.
- Tomato fry is ready.
Suggestions:
- Any oil can be used. But using coconut oil gives a different flavor.
