COCONUT CHUTNEY
Coconut chutney is a south Indian chutney commonly served as a side dish with idli, dosa or vadas. This is an instant recipe.
Ingredients:Â
Freshly grated coconut- ¾ cup
Dry red chillies- 3
Shallots- 2
Ginger- a small piece
Salt to taste.
Water- as required.
For tempering:
Mustard seed- ½ tsp.
Curry leaves- few
Dry Red chilli-1
Oil- 1 tbsp.
Preparation Method: Step by Step
- Take the dry red chillies and burn it directly over the flame.
- In a mixer take the freshly grated coconut, shallots, ginger and burnt red chillies. Blend it into a fine paste by adding require water.
- Add salt and mix well. Transfer it into a bowl.
- In a pan add oil, mustard seeds, dry red chili broken into two pieces and curry leaves. Let the mustard seeds flutter. Add this tempering over the chutney.
- Instant coconut chutney is ready. Serve it with any type of dosas or idlis or vadas.
Suggestions:
Red chillies can be replaced with green chillies.
